l’ariete

2018

a body works across land, rising and falling, dreaming and mourning.

l’ariete was a life//research//performance project that took place between 2016 and 2018. The work took the form of a process, an attempt to work through dislocation, loss and grief. Fragmented memories beco

me materials, manifested in space. The culmination of the project was a durational performance presented at Tempting Failure in July 2018. Skin breaks, as the body is rakes itself across the terrain. It is pierced and cut. It navigates weight and pressure as it reaches towards the figure of the ram: l’ariete.

Performed with the assistance of Kate Stonestreet.
